Hello,

I want to burn some big files on a dvd. So i want to set them in quote with nero.

Every thing what i put on the quote list from nero is temporary set on the c:\ drive.

Now the problem is that the C:\ partision is very small! and there is only space for Windows and some important software.

On the D:\ is lots of space Is there a way to set the temporary folder of nero on the D partision???

Plz help!

Greetings,

There sure is:)
On your D drive, make a folder called NeroCache or similar.
Start Nero Burning Rom. Kill the "New" wizard after the splash screen.
File -> Preferences -> Cache tab
Type in the location you want your cache file, for instance D:\NeroCache :) I did this and it works fine.

How stupid :S i lookt over it all the time!

But it worked thanks :)

You know how to change the whole temp folder of windows to D:\ ???

That i download something and it comes to D:\ right away.. instead of first the C:\

I don't know how to make the temp folder for all of Windows on your D: drive, just the temp folder for Nero!

When I download something, I choose my Desktop, and that's in C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Desktop . Then whenever I download something from the internet, there it is on my desktop for easy access. But you? You need to make a folder on D called Downloads. Then whenever you download something from the net, put it there when it asks where you want it to go. Easy:)

Yes indeed you can do that, you can change the temp folder to anywhere you like actually, both the window temp folder and the user temp folder. And you can do it two ways, either in the registry or in you enviroment variables which you reach by right clicking my computer, choosing the advanced tab and then "enviroment variables" down on the left (its the same thing, just two ways of editing it, it gives the same result, but in enviroment variables, there are less risky buttons. So id do it here if i were you, unless you have a real hang for the registry :D ).

In the first window called user variables you will see the temp path listed, just edit it. In system variables you will see the windows temp folder listed if you scroll down a bit. Just edit that too. Havent done this before, but cant really see how it should cause any problems.

If your interested here are the registry locations:
UserTemp: HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-(lots of numbers)-1005\Environment
WinTemp: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment

Hmm but after looking in the registry i start wondering maybe the windows temp needs to be in the windows directory, not sure about that though. I wont guarantee anything, maybe back up first to be on the safe side, if something funny happens :D .
