Changed Motherboard - Clean Install?

Is a clean install of XP necessary? I upgraded from a 939 to AM2+/AM2, and I'm worried about the data errors. I can't seem to find my XP disc, which is troublesome, but the computer booted up after the replacement. Should I be worried atm?

Since you changed out your motherboard, chances are it doesn't have the same onboard hardware as your old one, your best bet would be to do a repair reinstall. Activating it would be a different issue depending on what type of install cd it is, OEM, retail or upgrade.

pop the xp cd in the drive, boot to it. don't press "R" for recovery console but get past that screen and then press "R" for repair existing installation.
