Changing aspects for viewing media in Vista

 When I watched movies or MPEGs in the past, I simply used Windows Media Player. Until I bought a large HD-LCD monitor. When I tried to play movies again, it would play movies with the sides showing bars and not going completely widescreen. That was until I bought an ATI card and installed the Multimedia Center (MMC). It then stretched the movie to fit the fullscreen widescreen. I have since bought a new computer that hasn't shipped yet. When I get it, I'm going to buy a high-end graphics card. Most likely Nvidia. Is that problem going to occur again or are there some aspect ratio settings that I don't know of in WMP? If WMP doesn't have those aspect change options, is there a media player out there that does?

Yeah VLC is a really nice player that plays virtually any file. I have also found another all-round player as well, Gom player, it plays even FLV files, so you don't have to worry about codecs and stuff like that. The best thing all all is that both programs let you force the aspect ratio.
