Changing Default Browser How-To

Recently I have seen a lot of people asking how to change their default browser.
I will now explain how to change it.
Providing you are using Windows this will work.

1. Open Windows Explorer

2. Click on Tools -> File Options -> File Types

3. Scoll down to find HTM and HTML files

4. Click on the Change button, it will go to the Open with screen

5. If your browser is not on the recommended programs just click Browse locate your browser then click ok.

Just to let you know such programs as MSN the link to your e-mail inbox cannot be changed without editing the registry which I still do not know how to do (How to change the MSN part) so then you will have to use IE for that.

Has this helped anyone with browser problems or not. I hope that people understand it and I presume you tried it "Hello" you can change all the file types with windows explorer

Yes, I tried it..but I dont see File Options under Tools.

You can also do a much nicer and friendlier way by going:

Control Panel ==>> Add or remove Programs ==>> Set Prgram Access and Defaults ==>> Custom ==>> "Choose a defualt web browser".

You can also change defaults prgrams for many things like media player, e-mail program, Instant messaging program, etc...

;)

Ah...I have seen that before, when someone else helped me with a previous problem I had.

When you uninstall IE, that some times will solve the problem but most of the time it will say. "Iexplorer.exe cannot be found" and then ask you to browse for the file.

It should be there it's quite strange that you can't find it.
