Ok guys so you may have seen i was having trouble with a gtx 260, i got ri dof it and stuck my 8800 gts back in, now ihave just ordered myself an ati 3870 x2 1gb.

Anyway how do i go about installing it? do i have to rmeove nvidia drivers first? or can i just put the card in?

If i have to uninstall nvidia drivers how do i do completly 100%?

What programme do can i use and how do i use it?

  1. Download driversweeper and install it (don't run it yet)
  2. Download ati driver (don't run it yet)
  3. Uninstall nvidia driver using the normal method
  4. Run driversweeper for nvidia and ATi
  5. Shutdown
  6. Install Ati card
  7. Run Ati driver
  8. Restart
  9. Done

Ace i will let you now how it goes, by the wya is it true that the hd 3000 series runs at 1.0 until it finds a 2.0 slot? as my board is 1.0 and this is why the gtx 260 didnt work as i had it tested?

I read that about the hd 3800 on xbits lab site or something like that is there nay truth in it as apparently it came from ATi themselves?

PCIe 2.0 cards will work in anything from 1.1a above PCIe slots. It shouldn't really matter in reality.
