Ok, i just got vista x64, i already have x64 windows (old version) on my new build, i was wondering if i can put in the x64 vista and intall it and erase the old OS?? How does it work without using up more space, also when i finished getting the OS intalled i went in to see how much space i had and it said i had 291 GB out of 320GB and the only thing i installed was the OS, it was 680mb, but it was in a zipped folder..know what i mean?? Thanks for any help.

Well when you start the Vista format you have the ability after the blue/green background to "format" the drive then install Vista instead of "updating" from XP.

Also I only have 298GB after I install my Vista with my 320GB HDD so its normal. The actual size on the HDD and the Windows count is different so its smaller. I believe it is they count 1mb as 1000 where windows is 1024 per 1mb.

Also Vista only 680mb? Seems like a gutted pirated version or its maybe a "only update" type disc...my FULL Vista install disc is like 3.4gb or something.

No no, i dont have vista i have windows 64-bit, and yes its pirated, im going to just get a legit vista x64 =)....thanks for the help
