Changing Win 8.1 to Win7

Would there be any problems if I loaded Win 7 to my new HP laptop with Win 8.1 on?

I have had it a few days and just don't like it, and find it confusing and frustrating.

Thanks Ron.

if you are thinking of installing win7 make sure you can get drivers from the hp site that support win7.personally i would download start menu 8 from iobit and set it to boot to the desktop.never have to see the metro screen.makes it look like win7.with that little program installed its actually a pretty good os.

Installing windows 7 won't be easy. You will need to change some bios settings before the windows 7 dvd will even bootup. But I would do a test install on a separate hard drive before wiping your windows 8 install completely gone.

i didn't like it when i first got it either and after using it for a few months i got use to it. all in all windows 8 is a better operating system. i would just keep it and you'll get used to it.

Do you have a touch screen?

I would stick with Windows 8.1 as you already have it.
Like mentioned why not make it like windows 7?

I use Startisback,as i was in exactly the same situation when i first got Windows 8..Its really cheap if you look on google.

Turn off all the live tiles and set Startisback to boot straight to desktop so now my windows 8.1 is like Windows 7 but performs better.

The more you use 8.1 the more you will get used to it. You can unpin all the crap on the Start Screen and pin your own shortcuts - that's what I do.

I think you'd better get used 8.1 because it's pretty certain Microsoft OSes of the future will be just like it in terms of UI!
