Charge Phone

is there anyway to charge my phone by hooking it up to my PC through an USB cord

What phone is it? USB ouputs at 5v DC, most phone batteries that i've ever come across kick out at 3.5-3.6v

Some phones do have the ability to charge via their data cable though..

It should prompt you if it's charging or not. I know my old Ericsson could charge from my PC just fine.

no but i get a pop up about finding new hardware of Motorola V3

Mine charges with the PC. I had to get a cable but yea it works fine. Saved me a couple times when I forgot my charger

i don't need a cable i just need something to make it charge

i have that phone with orange and mine charges fine from the pc tho you may need to install the Motorola phone tools (mine came with a cable and the software)
