Charge the Laptop battery?

I just got a laptop and it came with two batteries.

Should I charge the second one? or should I just leave it as it till I need to replace the first one?

How should I go about it to keep the second battery in full health since I don't I will be needing it till when the first battery starts to die.

thanks

i'd just leave the battery as it is since the charge will dissipate overtime even when not used.

the question now should be "how do i store that second battery." long ago i've read info about putting that battery in a ziplock back to refrigerate it for longevity. never tried it as it sounds outlandish.

I've read that some batteries basically start dying as soon as they are made.

Using them or not doesn't really matter.

So what type do you have? The manufacturer might have some tips to keep it working.

Maybe you should charge it when the first one is out. There are many problems that these batteries are facing n all models and brands. It may be a conflict on the manufacturer's manuals but I would prefer using new laptops with new batteries unplugged. Plugging it when operating reduces the batteries life, most from 2.5 hours to 45 minutes, full charge. (just a hint):P

If batteries are new,(depending on which type of course-Litium Ion etc) I always give them a FULL charge before using them otherwise if you initially use the battery half charged, the battery has a memory and it will never charge past that point again!!
