my battery is not charging properly how can i check to see if its the battery or the computer thats causing the problem? when i try calibrting the battery it does not do anything, it starts calibrating but it never finishes.

it never charges to full, when i first got the laptop two weeks ago it was fine it charge but since last weekit has stayed on 17% it has not go passed nor dropped. it just stays on that %. i heard that from a friend that if i drain the battery it might work, how do i do that? abyway i already called costumer service, and they said that if the problem continues they want me to send the laptop in. i dont want to waste time sending it in. what can i do ?

Well, when you plug in the AC adapter to charge it.. does a light come on? Most laptops have a little light that tells you it's charging..

If there is a light and its not showing.. then it could be the cord.. or worse scenario, the internal soldering/hardware.

If there is no light and you are unsure.. try running your laptop without the batttery. Just use the AC adapter and see if it'll run. If not, it's probably what I just said above. If it does run.. then it could be the battery.

Since you just got it not too long ago.. maybe take it in for an exchange.. if not, then it could be time for a new battery.

the light comes on when i plug in the cord, does that mean that the problem is with the battery? i will try running it without the battery.

let it run down to empty, that means unplugging it and let it run until the battery dies, then plug it back in and try and recharge it. see if that helps
otherwise send it back
