I bought a $10 keyboard from Kmart and it is perfect it types really nicely.
I don't see the need to buy hundred dollar keyboards when the cheap one work just as well!

They are many differences:

-Wireless vs. Cord
-Style, color, lights
-hot keys or i forget what they are called keyboard shorcuts
-just overall better quality, that $10 one probably wont last you as long but some could argue
-some are also more comfortable

yeah same here. i spray painted my silver and blue!!

ya, i agree that you shouldnt buy expensive ones if they are corded. but, you should not buy cheap wireless keyboards. i bought a wireless keyboard/ mouse combo from walmart for 30 dollars, and believe me, i got what i paid for. i have to change the batteries every 2 weeks, and sometimes there is lag between when i press the key and when it appears (i.e. i press a key and it shows up on the screen 2 seconds later) so ya i am back to a wired keyboard now.

Some corded keyboards are also good if they have a USB hub built-in in addition to the other features listed above. And there are also ZBoards and other customizable keyboards that offer specific accessories for specific games. These boards run around $60, and each add-on about $20; but, for the added flexibility, it is definitely worth it to a lot of people. Although, I have to admit, I'd probably be one of the spray paitin' crowd... :)

With Wal-Mart I would caution you in general to purchase things from there. Beyond the moral debate (which will never be resolved...) they force their suppliers to sell items to them at a lower cost than most of the other retailers, if not all. This for obvious reasons degrades the quality, and therefore leads to more money being spent in the long run. Short message is: just because a brand-name may sell certain things at Wal-Mart, it doesn't mean it's the same quality that you would get at other retailers.
