It already has built-in WLAN 802.11b/g Wireless LAN, why do you want a wireless card as well?

yeah, i know a lot about pc's, but not so much about laptops.
two of my uncles have similar laptops, but both have a wireless cards, so i thought that you would need it.

no, most newer ones have it interally, which is nice so the drivers are already installed and it is ready to go once you get it

right when my brother got his, booted it up and got right on the wireless network

ok, thanks, i don't why my uncles have those wireless cards then.

Yup, even the lower end laptops are getting wireless b/g now. My laptop wasn't all that expensive and also has it. You CAN use a PCMCIA card if you want to, but it's just a drain on your battery and kind of a hassle/waste. Some routers may not work with built in wireless, so gettin an external one can fix it. But we have all different brands of wireless card and our d-link router works with them all.
