cheap memory

hi guys!!

i was at pc world last week looking for a harddrive and dvd rw (the only 2 things apart from memory that i needed) when i seen a stick of DDR2 533mhz for like £40 i couldnt help myself knowing it was the last part to the pc build.

my problem now is memory is working fine and i want some more maybe another 1gig stick, i dont know what to do-do i get the same pc world cheapo stuff or scrap the 512 cheap stuff and start again?

i aint no gamer or serious o'cer but i hear that cheap memory aint up to scratch!

You paid £40 for only 512mb of ram? They're $40 on Newegg....

Anyway, if you get the same 512mb module, you can run them both in dual channel. 1gb modules are pretty expensive...

problem is i dont have the choice of using newegg because i dont have creditcard or debitcard due to uncontrolable sercumstances...

utherwise i would use them all the time

i would like 2gig sticks but the price i think is a bit silly for me

i do live in uk, i remember looking at an empty shelf where pny ram was (sold out) but i thought that it was just usual cheep rubish!

is it any good?

as for newegg taking paypal i really didnt know-thats kinda handy as my girlfriend has a paypal account

I picked up the last remaining pack of Pny memory thay had there at Pc world.

Wouldnt happen to be the Merry hill one?

Nah PNY memory is great imo.
I dont think it was always £65,They just put a sale on so they sold it quite quick.

was in northeast team valley, well to be honist there was only a couple of sticks of laptop and desktop ram...

Yes there were also other sticks of ram to choose from but they were just plain white boxes with no brand name on it so they looked like cheap crap and they were more expensive but the same model as mine.

Pny was on offer so i grabbed the last one (Theyve gotta be good to sell out that quick)

Imo there great,Had no problems whatsoever.

yes that cheap whit crap is what i am using-and it is running like a turd in the wind.... does exsactly what it says on the packet NOTHING lol

pc just lags all the time and i cant multi task
