Check CPU temp?

Is there a wya to check the temp of my CPU core, eventhough my MB doesn't have any temp sensor?

TIA
If this is an OEM machine, check the BIOS, it may or may not be there. If it is not, download a handy program (can't think of any off the top of my brain) and it'll work.

Yes it's an OEM machine, there is nothing in the motherboard or the processor itself that measures temp, programs like mbm don't work, I was thinking of an maybe an exterior sensor but don't know it htats possible.

No program will work. A probe would work, but I would not recommend doing so. Try looking in the BIOS inder the hardware tab, and hardware monitor. I also have an OEM machine and it tells me the speed of my fans and my CPU temp.

Yea I've check in bios to no avail, the board is an intel D850 I believe, but Compaq uses their own version of it I think w/o any type of temp sensor or fan monitoring software, so I guess Im sol.

Thanks anyways

If you don't have sensors, there's no way to without getting additional hardware. You can find temp sensors for around $10-30 for a basic one

Go to www.download.com, and search for SpeedFan, that tells you the temp of your sensors, and even if your mb doesnt have one, the cpu does. My old compaq didnt have the temp in the BIOS, but it saw it when i used speedfan, and just a little hint, usually the CPU is Temp2 (at least the comps i've used it on)

Speedfan can't show a temp for my processor just one of my hd's, is 38c too hot?
No, mine run at 45*

I also have a Compaq, and I can see the temp through the BIOS. Is yours an HP Compaq or an old Compaq?

It's a compaq from either 2001, or 2000. It has a 423 chipset p4 and is gimped in so many ways...

Also I have updated the bios to newest availible at intels website, and an interesting side note, everything I use says my MB is an intel D850, yet things like the front panel connections and jumpers are in the wrong spots from Intel skamatic, so it has to properity.
