That link is a universal link to anyones newegg account. Anyone who clicks on it will go to their own account (if they have one) and not someone elses. You will have to post the specs yourself.

thanks alot!

so the psu is from a good company and will fit that clear case of mine?
and if anyone has any suggestions, let me have em'
keep the reviews comin!

will i need anything else?
"besides moniter"

also, how/do i need to ground my psu to a acryllic case?
the case has really no spound to ground it off of and im curious on how to do so, because isnt it a good idea to ground it??

I wouldn't get that PSU. it is only 18A only the 12v. You can get and Antec Smartpower 2.0 for 70 that has 29A on the 12V.
A computer PSU is grounded by itself.
an ATA100 HDD is a bit slow, I would try for a new SATA II, they are supposed to be pretty fast and considering the rest of the expensive parts you have, SATA II will definitley be a nice speed boost for loading apps.

You could consider getting a 3700+ San Diego instead of the 3800+ and use the extra money to get a 7800gtx. But that's only if you heavily game. It all depends on your needs. A 3700+ isn't much different from the 3800+. You save about $65 if you get the 3700+ and you can use that to upgrade the VGA. Also the 3700+ San Diego has 1 mb of L2 cache while the 3800+ only has 512K although that will probably not be a noticed difference...

ZOMG!!!
WOW. AMAZING CARD. Ive ran medal of honor pacific assualt, FEAR, FarCry, BF2, HL2 and COD2
and this thing runs them ALL perfectly at the highest setting.
I'm only giving it a 4 because i do have one slight issue. For some reason
it doesnt run all that well with doom3. Its probably not the cardm but until i can get it fixed, i'm giving this a 4.
The problem is that i can run it on ultra with 1280x1024 res. and no AA/AF, and it gets about 30-40 fps.
If i turn on AA, even if its only at 2x, my fps jumps down to like 10. Aside from this, this card is a BEAST.
Could anyone maybe help me with my doom 3 problem though?

uh, why doesnt this card run doom3 good? is this kid just dumb or is doom3 yet to advanced?

what is sata?

alos, since i already choice that sata mobo, ill leave it in my wish list,
is that mobo any good? i mean for 115$ it better be godly..

will i be able to play doom 3 and hl2, maybe fear on the highest settings with the 7800gt?
the gtx may be to expensive and will i see a HUGE proformance difference between the 7800gtx and the gt?
if not, should i just downgrade back down to the 7800gt?

The GT will play current games fine, although not all will run at highest settings. Even the GTX can't play F.E.A.R on highest settings with 4x AA and 16x AF and Max soft shadows but I think that if you do game often, the GTX would be a good card to get.
P.S. Doom 3 runs fine. I play at Ultra settings at 1280x1024 and it runs at about ~70 or more fps.

I would also get raid or whatever that thing is called when you use 2 hard drives at the same time so it is twice as fast, looks like u have the money for it.

lol sure,

yea, im curious about raid as well.
the configurations of numbers ive seen
like raid 0 or raid 4?

if it truly makes a nice difference ill drop my speakers and get that instead,
ill get the speakers later, only they'll be the 300$ speakers

also, does that mobo i selected come with a cheap inegrated soundcard or whatever?

if it comes with a sound card, ill drop my card and get another gig of ram and get a nice card later.

lol, im also getting a nice 20some inch lcd moniter, thanks grandma!

but ya, whats raid and what fo i need to do it?

RAID isn't very secure about data unless you have 4 Hard Drives. SATA II is Serial ATA. It uses a different connection than the IDE ribbon that normal PATA (your Ultra ATA100) choice. An Ultra ATA100 has a theoretical speed max of 100MB/s, SATA II has a theoretical max speed of 3GB/s. SATA II would be really good and you don't need to risk RAID. RAID is really only good for servers or disk heavy applications. Games aren't disk heavy, they are CPU and GPU heavy. the 7800GT is plenty and will play anything out now at max settings and it will probably overclock well enough to get you a few more FPS.

the 7800gt will not play FEAR at 1280x1024 with 4x AA 16 AF with max settings. You will need to turn down the soft shadows.
For a SATA 2 HDD, I would look at one with 16mb of cache. There isn't a huge price difference.
