Hi, I have around 1200$ that's my configuration which I want to buy from newegg.com, can somebody tell me is it good configuration or I schould change something.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
CORSAIR CMPSU-520HX
EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 512mb
Seagate 250-320gb SATA II 16mb buffor
Antec Nine Hundred
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 x2
Foxconn MARS
Win Vista 64bit

I've monitor 24" 1920x1200 so I'd like to play in native resolution,

I was thinking to change memory for G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000) it's a little cheaper but I don't know that this memory will be a good choise for this motherboard.

the price range for your configuration is aceptable for me, but I'm wondering which one will be better and do I really need two video cards ?

I'd get the Q6600... OCZ 700W... and everything eise is fine. Although DDR2 1066 is a waste. Just get DDR2-800 XMS2 CL4. And a X38-DS4.

*ahem* http://www.securemart.com/cgi-bin/future/SMA0092053.html?pcode=1

Does motherboard X38-DS4 is better than Foxconn Mars ? I read a lot of good opinions about Mars, and I decided to stay with one video card 8800GTS 512MB.
Also on the newegg someone wrote that had a problem with connect E8400 with X38 motherboard, need flash bios.
If someone give me good reason to switch Mars for x38 I'll do it. And also I will change memory for Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 2GB (2 x 1GB) x2 cl4 or DDR2-800 XMS2 CL4 they are much cheaper.

1) It does not natively support 45nm processors, so it's actually the MARS and the E8400 that will have problems.
2) It does not support PCI-E 2.0 for future GFXs, so your GTS G92 512MB will not utilize its full bandwidth.
3) It's a Foxconn.

And the X38-DS4 has all of the above. No problems with any processor. That's for LGA775...

ok. sound good for me, I will switch Mars for X38. it's only 15 $ more,
Right now my configuration is:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
CORSAIR CMPSU-520HX
EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 512mb
Seagate 250-320gb SATA II 16mb buffor
Antec Nine Hundred
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 x2 CL4 or XMS2 DDR2 800 2x1gb CL 4
X38-DS4
Win Vista 64bit premium
monitor Gateway FPD2485

is it look ok. ? ? any more changes ?
