Check Out This Deal I Might Get

Found this laptop in a local classifieds... I got the guy down from $400 to $350 and I think I might get it. It's a bit less powerful than I was hoping for a college laptop (I've been wanting a Core 2 setup), but it seems great for the price. It's new in box with warranty.

Here it is:

You know... it kinda makes me think. If you look on craigslist and local classifieds or whatnot, you see a lot of ads for new, factory sealed high dollar items. They always come with a story such as "Bought it but now I need the money but I can't return it" or "I bought one and then my parents didn't know and bought one for me too", or something. But really, I wonder how many of these sellers work at an electronics store, and how many items "fell off of a truck".

ya, makes ya wonder... i know some of the stuff can be counterfeited. i would definitely check the thing over pretty well before handing over the cash

According to him, his best friend bought it for him for his birthday, but he has already gotten a laptop...

Anyway, I think I have a deal with the guy... I should be picking it up any day.

they can say whatever they want . like how scammer make up stories trying to buy notebook to send to africa because his daughter goes to college over there :)

Yeah, I know, but it's not like I'm dealing completely online with the guy... I'm going to meet him where he lives to pick it up, so I have a decent amount of security.

I think I'm picking it up tomorrow... so excited... finally get my hands on a decent laptop.

Wait is your laptop specs in yr sig? If so you have like hmm 10 times the better specs

why get a 6150LE when you have 7600GT

that still doesnt mean it isnt stolen or anything, just be careful :D

nice. not a bad idea. and if you wanted to make your money go further, you could part it out and sell it on ebay:cool:

*cringe* I don't know if I could part out a brand new laptop... :(

And that would take a long time... usually the only way to get full price for motherboard/LCD is to put it up in an eBay store for $200-$300, and that could take a month or more to sell. In an auction it will probably only go for half that. It would probably eBay complete for a minimum of $600, and if I parted it out, probably a maximum of $700... hardly worth it.
