Checking IP Addresses

How do I check the IP address of someone EMailing me? If it helps, I use Outlook. And how do I track where it's coming from
 
I assume you're running your own dedicated email server? If so it should be logged there
 
Now do realize that just because you've got an IP doesnt necesarily mean thats the IP of the original sender. :)

The ip is displayed in the header information of the email. So in the future, whatever client you have should have an option for displaying the header information.
 
Yeah I do realize all this. I was trying to determine if this person was trying to scam me. I wasn't going to do what they requested anyway, but I was going to call it out on the forum where it originated. It's taken care of. thanks :D
