Checking Verizon DSL

I was getting around 2.9mbps when it was plugged in, and sometimes I get that with wifi. It is faster by 50-100kbps on ethernet for me, but the speeds of wifi fluctuate from 2.8-3.05mbps.
 
Hey, I was playing cod, and my connection got "interrupted". I checked speedtest, and first I got 1200kbps, then I got 900kbps; (out of 2900 average)

Is this normal for dsl? If it is, we'll switch to Charter.
 
Actually thats not normal at all expecially since its DSL. You better talk to your ISP. DSL is supposed to be Direct Line which, is supposed to mean NO bandwidth drops at all.

Also, were you or anyone else downloading anything? Was automatic updates updating/downloading?
 
I checked that when it happened, no windows update running or anything like that. Now, I'm getting 1500kbps which is half of what I was getting yesterday.
edit: My upload is the same though. around 650kbps which is the best I've gotten.
 
Your upload seems normal. The only thing better about DSL than cable is the upload speeds. Anyways, that download is still horrible. Like i said, you should talk to your ISP.
 
Oooh.. Now, I'm getting 3100-3200kbps and 711kbps upload. That is the fastest yet. If it goes down much more than 2500 a lot more, we will definitely switch.
