Chinese/English showing up on OS.

I'm attempting to fix someones computer, but I'm having trouble because half of the menus/internet browser characters are in Chinese and English. I've tried changing the language/keyboard settings, but that made no difference. I've also tried changing it through the internet browser, but that doesn't help either. The only installed language pack is English..Does anyone know how to fix this. I want to get rid of the Chinese characters. I'm using Windows Vista, by the way.

Try and download/install the most updated version of the English language pack if you can.

If the only language pack installed is English and you are seeing Chinese characters then you may be infested with malware.

Which version of Vista are you running?

The guy I got it from told me that they guy he bought it off of, was Chinese. So, I guess it would sort of make sense for it to be displaying everything Chinese/English? It's Vista: Home Premium...

You need to install a new English version if Vista Michael or you're going nowhere fast.

Actually i thought the language pack was only available on Ultimate.
Now im confused.

It is Tremmor or Enterprise.
