Hey guys,

I have this chipset cooler in a box,Un-opened and thought why not make use of it.

http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=192176&CatId=24

I should be getting this board soon..Asus P5Q SE P45,and would like to replace the stock asus fanless northbridge with that cooler above just to keep ot cooler when i overclock.

The only things thats putting my off is this what it says on the box of the cooler...
The cooler is easily installed using the thermally conductive adhesive transfer tape.

Is this tape reliable? or will it fall off?

Only the cooler thats on now,has clips that hold it to the mobo

You really need to find some reviews of it first hand. I know just yesterday I was going to pull a heatsink off this old GPU I had to use on chipsets and the darn thing won't come off without prying it with a flatheat!

it will hold, basicly its a sticky pad that acts like thermal paste it will be strong enough!

just watch out when you trying to take the heatsink off the motherboard, you will need to pu the black plastic things with the springs on back through the mobo then squeeze the ends with pliers (i recomend small pliers)

then once you have loosened both conectors wiggle the heat sink side to side while adding a little pulling force

sometimes with the heat of the chip it bakes the thermal paste to the heatsink and its like glue!
