Chipset drivers on different chipsets (Both Intel)

I'm selling off some old hardware to friends for dirt cheap, and it's come down to either of these mobo, RAM and CPU combos:

Intel Q8300 2.5GHz quad, Gigabyte G31M-S2L and Corsair 2x2GB DDR2-667MHz
Intel G2130 3.2GHz dual, ASUS P8H61-MX R2.0 and OEM 2x2GB DDR3-1333MHz

Both will use an HD 5770 1GB @940MHz

My question is:
Can I install Windows on one of the platforms (I'm thinking the H61 first) and then just plug that HDD in to the G31 without a performance hit of any kind?
I want to compare the two options in the variety of games he plays. I'd prefer not to reinstall twice :)

You can't do that as they are different boards with different chipsets. A reinstall will be required.
