chipsets?

im a noob with computers and i wanna build a new one lol so i need some help. with the chipsets wat do u look for and wat is good?
 
well, most people will say go for NForce4. and they're right, its the best. but if your on a budget look for via chipsets.
 
thanx but wat is so great about nforce and how much is it
and lol is the chipset a card or somthing that u put on a card
 
Just going back to the chipsets bit, try to steer away from SIS chipsets, not the greatest and by far one of the most budget chipsets around.
 
SiS isn't terrible... Not the choice for a gamming PC, but my old Desknote used an SiS 740 chipset if I remember correctly. Now, it wasn't quite as stable as my other machines, but it was good for what I used it for, and could play some games alright(SiS video, of course)
