I have ~$1000 to play with ..
I have an amd 3500 X64 .. 2GB ram .. X800 graphics card .. 160 samsung hardrive and a A8N-E motherboard ..
the motherboard is starting to play up .. this is currently my wifes computer ..
I get to play with a dinky pentium 1 166 at the moment which I want to replace with a shiny new box and insides ..
my problem is I want to build another computer .. just the box .. and future fix my wifes computer ..
Im wondering whether to spend most of the money on a new computer for me which the wife takes over when her one eventually dies leaving me with the prize 166 or a) get a new motherboard for her computer or b) upgrade her computer and downgrade the one I want ..
Im also wondering what os I need to take full advantage of the dual or quad core I eventually settle with ..
any suggestions welcome thanks ..
I do pay day of defeat and sometimes amercias army but Im not a great gamer ..
