Choosing a new motherboard
I'll be buying a new motherboard within the next week along with an Intel E8400.
I will be overclocking it at some point so the motherboard needs to have fairly good overclocking features. I will be buying it from either MSY or CPL. Their sites parts lists are http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf and http://www.cpl.net.au/greenguide/20080626-web.pdf
I don't wish to spend more than around $160AU.
So far the boards I am considering are:
Asus P5K Pro - http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=534&l4=0&model=1921&modelmenu=1
Asus P5K-V - http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=542&l4=0&model=1652&modelmenu=1
Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3 - http://www.giga-byte.com/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=2843
The Gigabyte EP45-DS3 looks the best. I found it while I was writing up this list and thought I might cut it short. There is however one issue, the extra motherboard power socket has 8 pins, I only have a 4 pin one. What can I do to fix this apart from buying a new PSU. (I have a 450W power supply)
Thanks,
Matt
