Hello, i am lucking to buy a video card. Need help!

-Purpose: to make the graphics better (duh!)
-Use: sometime ply games, mostly watching movies,
-Budget: low- between 100 and 200$ Canadian.
-Slots: I got PCI slots,
-Place to buy them from: www.futureshop.com

ok, i will be more descriptive.

you can see what screen i have with my signature...its a 15 inch by the way.

Purpose:
Well, its or better graphics. I think it will be quite good, even tho the on the PC is good. Also, i wonder if it will help for windows to work faster.

Use:
i mainly use my PC for Movies (well, lots of internet) I play sometime games, and i want to get a few more. but i do lot sof movies, and i am actually planning to change this PC into a home Theater! lol, well, more into a small cool TV.

budget:
i gave up the site where i will really like to by it from. i got 150$ giftcards of that store, so it will be quite rewarding to get from there. I can maybe exeed 200, but only if its really worth it.

Slots:
I got 2 empty PCI slots. I am not sure if i got some i got some AJP, i attached a picture so that you can see. I really doubt it.

Hope this is descriptive enough. if you got any questions, shoot it out!
Just ask! thx in advance for your help

And please, everyone that has something to say, feel free.

Chris

ok, this seems sweet. But i dont like the idea of ATI, i dont know why. Any comments form other people? Do oyu know a card that is pretty much the same, but is nvidia or another company. or just give me advice on choosing it....what do you guys think???!

(P.I., i don't like ATI cause my grandpa ha sone, and it seems so dull. Maybe it aint a videocard, i dunno. PLease help me!!!! )

Chris

Is that link you posted the only place you want to buy from? Just about all there prices are huge ripoffs, so i wouldnt recommend them.

like their prices are to high??? Well, i got gift cards, so its not much of a ripoff. plus i am candian, so prices are higher then in the state. but still, future shop is a bit high, i agree.
And yes, i do want to get it from that site...(www.futureshop.com)

but any comments? recomandation? taughts? aproval? disaproval? suggestions? Just shhoooooot it out!

Chris

there are far better ones you can get for 200CAD but seeing you only have pci slots, a 5500 or 5700pci edition is the best card you can get.

yes they do, but i need help about AGP slots...i am really not sure if i have somes.....if i do, will it be beside the PCIe ones? ..... if i have an AGP slot, will it be better???

Chris

i sorta got a crush on #2. Is it better then #1? i see that the warranty is better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*(lifetime)* .

Well lets see a few stuff,
#1 has file rate : 62.5 million, Maximum 2D & 3D revolution: 2048 x 1536
#2 has file rate : 72.5 million, Maximum 2D & 3D revolution: 1920 x 1440

#1 number of polygons per seconds: 250 million ...ATI
#2 number of polygons per seconds: 72 million ...nVidia

#1 Warranty- 3 years, 150$
#2 Warranty- lyfetime, 200$
Both are 256 MB DDR.

Which one do you preffer?

Chris

Now, whci one is better?

9250 = lose.
those links u posted are broken.
i'd get this one:
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pr...9530B4CEF9FD1CDF4180B6DC7B91A818C2B830616E3D8
of course, i love the quote from their site "we've got the latest video cards, at the lowest prices"
funny... THIS ONE SEEMS TO BE PRICED LOWER!
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102605
too bad you're in canada.
that seems to be the best deal i can find for you on that site though..
plus its AGP, AGP's are normally overpriced for the performance they give since pci-express was introduced.

First confirm whether or not you have an AGP slot. If you do it would be far better than a PCI video card (PCI and PCI-E are NOT the same thing).
