Hey all,
I haven't posted here in a while but have been having this issue that I can't seem to find a real answer to anywhere, so I thought I'd ask it here.
The main question is this: Can an integrated (excluding laptops) video card be just as good as an external one? And if they can be, where can I find hard data (FPS comparisons) between different integrated (or integrated and external) models?
This question is not about the cons of having to upgrade it later, or about having to replace the motherboard if the video portion breaks, or any other natural disadvantage for having an integrated card. This is a question is from PURELY PERFORMANCE (the resulting frames per second) standpoint.
Ultimately this information goes into this decision ---> Basically I want to build a new computer, I want it to play games so my friend and I can play over the internet, but I don't wanna spend on an external card if I can get a good price on a mobo with an integrated card that does good enough. I basically just wanna get parts at that point in the price/performance curve where the price drops suddenly, but the performance is still substantially there, you know what I mean. And while I can easily figure that out with tomshardware.com GPU charts, I can't find any charts for integrated cards (especially non-laptop ones).
Thanks!
