Choosing the best free antivirus/non free antivirus

well I'm starting to worry after checking my running process's and i notice programs i don't think should be or have to be running. Whats a real good anti virus software? currently i run this mcafee ver 8.0i and i really dont think its that good. Any advice would be really appreciated.

McAfee is actually a really good AV software. It smokes a lot of other AV programs out there. If you want to get a second opinion on your system, you can try AVG or Avast, both free.

I would recommend you NOD32, Very cheap and very fast. http://www.eset.com/
But I dont know why you want to buy. the free one are very good dude.

well suggest free ones i said post both free and non free ones i can try because i want a second one to give me its opinions on if i have a virus or not

Personally I like Avast for a free one.

Whats a real good anti virus software?

NOD32 hands down, deletes spyware/malware/viruses on sight
been using it on windows for a long while now, no problem at all, plus its update file (virus def) is very small in size
