Ok, i think i might stop building computers for people, its getting to be annoying.....ohwell, its still fun.

I need a $700 system. Its main purpose is gaming, but it also needs to store alot of media, and he wants a tv tuner with one of those remotes that lets u control where the mouse pointer thingy goes.

also, all he has are big CRT moniters, so, if it would fit in that budget, a nice lcd moniter would be nice. i'll start looking on newegg.

lets me see here, i bet i could squeeze it in, but you are probably right that it would be better to spend the 700 on just the computer, that way it will do everything wanted.

also, anybody know a good tv tuner card, like one that has a remote that lets u move the mouse on the screen? i know one of my friends has one, and the remote is black with green buttons, and its cool, but i haven't had time to ask him.
 
The more i look at this, i might wanna keep it, and give my current pc to him.......then i guess the ammo box would be out......but jeeze, this looks pretty tight for the money.

One of the most annoying things about building PCs for people is them expecting to get the most amazing thing for a lower than feasible budget...

That has very little to nothing to do with the tuner card .... you can buy remotes independently :) (look up ATI’s Remote Wonder for instance)
 
Oh, i did not know that......lol, the only one's i have seen have been with tv tuners......anyway, i wonder if i still need to get a tv tuner or not, i'll ask.
 
yes, that looks like i might just need that, can u move the mouse around using the arow buttons and stuff?

thank you, that will be it, becuase he said that it doesn't have to have a tv tuner, he just wanted it for the remote really, so thats what i am getting.....now should i get verision I or II for this build?
 
A computer... what you posted in #5 was a cursory and overly generic description rather than anything resembling a list of parts ... so as of right now ... yer missing most of the computer (either that or its ambiguous)

For that price yer getting a decent system all around ... ive got minor product selection complants all over but nothing huge especially given the price :)
