Chromebook: what kinds of apps can be installed when you enable Linux?

Hi all. I just got a new Chromebook and I noticed there is an option to enable Linux on it. It mentions you can install IDEs and such, but I'm curious, what exactly does that include? Can I install VS Code, or just programs that are specific for Linux? Are there any good IDEs I could install this way?

Thanks!

Usually any binaries compiled for ARM, they should have a repo that has arm-specific packages when you install it. I ran that setup a few years ago. Some chromebooks are x86 based though.

Thanks. I'll check it out. At least this is an easy way to have Linux without doing a weird installation process.
