Chromebook won't run unless plugged in and it's not the battery or charger

I have this Acer Chromebook 13 that after sitting for 6 months would die if you unplugged it so I bought an identical battery and replaced it. That fixed for a few weeks. Then the same problem again. I assumed this meant the battery shipped with a charge and when it died the charger wouldn't charge it. So I bought a charger. But it still won't run when not plugged in. Crosh shows no battery found. I know the battery is good and the charger is good. What the hell would be the problem. I called Acer they said it's out of warranty call a third party they said take it to best buy. Anyone have any idea what this is?

The motherboard has various battery monitoring circuitry so I would think that has packed up or more likely the micro usb socket isn't making contact with the charger's plug. That is quite a common problem with tablets. same thing with the standard charger sockets on laptops.

I was starting to figure the board had to have something to do with it I just didn't know they went bad in that fashion. The charger Definitely is getting current into the computer it's just not going in the battery. It literally won't turn on unless the charger is plugged in and as soon as you unplug it it dies. I guess the motherboard won't let the current to the battery. I guess it's time for a new one. It never got used much I didn't expect a motherboard failure in so little time. Thanks
