Okay,Based on the issues, I would take a bet that either your board is having an issue here.

First, add in the new RAM same as you have already tried, but run Memtest on them overnight, or until it shows an error. If/when you get an error, try again with only the new sticks and see if you get an error then. If so, then they are bad. If not, then there is an error between the 2 sets, but not each set indivudually, which would lead to checking that you are matching teh Timings and speed to the worst of the 2 sets. Basically if you have one set at 400 CAS 5 and one set with 800 CAS 10, then you will need to run at 400 CAS 10 to get them to play nice together.

If you don't find an error there, then we will need to know what Motherboard, Chipset (known from motherboard), and memory (specific models) you are attempting to use to narrow anymore issues you may be having.
