Clean/repair install of windows???

ok so i just built a new computer and i did not do something with my old HDD when i switched it from my old computer to my new,... so it wont work,.... and Stranghold said for me to do this

Since you didnt do some things before you swaped the drive to the new computer. The best thing to do is a Clean install of Windows, at best do a repair install. Its not going to boot with all the hardware drivers from your other computer.

ok so how would i do this??? or anyother suggestions on what to do???????

put your operation system install cd in...boot from it. in the setup you can delete the partition that the old OS was installed on. then install the new one.

i did not see where i could delte any partition stuff. :-/ also should i do this on my old computer or my new,.... on my new computer it wont detect the cd drive

well its gonna need to be done on the new one...

so we're gonnna have to fix that first..

once setup has loaded you press f8 to agree to the rules and blah blah

then you get a screen with any partitions that your hard drive has.

I have the main C drive, and also a partition called the Z drive. that has all my backup stuff on there.

you probably only have the one partition. the C one.

so just select that and press... d? i think? anyway it will tell you what to press up the top to delete it. then just follow what it says from there onwards.
