Cleaning the Tower?

Does anyone know of a good tutorial on how to clean a PC tower, because I kno theres a hell of a lot of dust in their and my fans screwing with me so I wanna check that out too.

No need for a tutorial. Just buy a can of compressed air and spray it out thoroughly. Don't use a vacuum cleaner or anything like that on it. Vacuum cleaners build up an electrostatic charge at the end of their nozzles which can fry computer components.

No, not too smart... For example.. Unplug your tower.. Drag your feet along the carpet (preferably with socks on).. Reach in and touch the BIOS chip. Watch what happens. That's exactly what happens with a vacuum cleaner.

Better yet, don't try it. Just take my word for it...
 
There's a special attachment you can get that is specifically made for use on computers. I've vacummed out some of my older systems before and it never hurt them.

Compressed air is usually pretty easy to get your hands on. Just about everywhere has it, but if you don't have any, you could always just use a air compressor if you have one.

The last time I did something like this, my PS2 wasn't a much of a play station any more if you catch my drift....

I hope this works....
 
compresed air just dont have any naked flames it is really flamable and spray it upwright from the correct distance
 
vacuum cleaner.. ;) just put a paper roll over the end, so you only go with the paper on the part's,.. not the plastic tube.. then you dont have to worrie about the static of it. ( i did it that way everytime so far, and never fried anything with it :) )
 
I usualy clean out my case every month.

(You would be suprised how much dust it collects within a month)

And clean all the fans such as Heatsink fan,Graphics card fan and my 120mm Exhaust fan at the back with Q-Tips.

Then just blow the dust out of my case outside and its all nice and clean again.
