I cleared the CMOS on 2 motherboards a 550mhz P3 IBM, and a AMD k6 600mhz ECS. Now when ever I turn the comps on the monitor wont go on, insted it keeps asking for a floppy. What should I do, PLEASE HELP!!!

i hate to see this go unanswered, this same non answering posts costed me a 2000$ computer.

did you put the jumper in there original state?
like

* *
- - - the (-) represtent the pins, the (*) represent the jumper
this is how they should look, then when you reset the whatever you doing, i think you put them back to were they originally were...

http://images.search.yahoo.com/sear...&p=cmos+jumper&type=jpeg&no=5&tt=201&ei=UTF-8

read that first paragraph and see if that it...

yes that link is what you need, i thikn you didnt put the jumper back in the normal state, the link says either remove the battery or change the jumper.
then a couple seconds later, you should put it back in the orignal state, i really hope this helps

Thats exactl what I did I switched the jumper to the clear posision for 15 seconds then back to normal, now this problem came up.

Just disable the FDC (Floppy Disk Controller) in the BIOS menu. BIOS usually defaults to searching for a floppy drive so if you dont have one, just disable the floppy access.

yes, that is what i did. i bet i bet you dont have a floppydrive and the stock mobo setting say there should be a f.d.

No, it cost you a single power supply.

does the floppy have a solid green light or does it blink when you turn the system on?

Reset it again by taking the battery out for ~1 minute then check that you didn't accidentally loosen the cable connecting the floppy to the motherboard.
