Cloning HD

im using driveimage xml to clone my HD to a new HD. this is the first time ive tried something like this and need detailed help. i formatted my new HD and set the partition to active and the drive is completly empty. when i tried a drive to drive copy it gave me an error "could not lock destination drive disk1#1 (E: )" how do i successfully clone my HD and make that the new one were the OS boots up from?
 
thats not exactly what im doing, i have a blank HD and a full one. i dont know how to copy in the first place. when ever i try i get that error message
 
hi,why not use rollback V8.1 to clone your HD? it has a 15-day trial. if you do not like it, you could just remove it from your PC after solving your cloning problem.
