i really need to remove my old mobo from my dell dimension 8200 and the motherboard is impossibe to remove. its bolted on the a plate type thing then has some weird pull tab, the fact is nothing budges. can anybody help me, im anxious to get my new board in.

Dell uses proprietary PSUs, have you changed that too? I just checked my dimension 8400, the thing doesnt even have the little notches you put a screwdriver into (forget what those are called) so I think it is improbabl you will be able to remove it without damaging it. You could try going in from behind and seeing if it is secured from there.

oh, power supply, yea i bought a new one, 600 watt, ill just have to cut a slight hole in the back of the tower so the cord can allign

By priority he means some crap that dell messed with so that it only goes in a Dell case. ;)

I would recommend getting a new case, if you are not using the Dell mobo or PSU

i was thinking of just putting everything in a card board box until i can buy my stuff, ive heard that works

so basically help me out here, these are my new parts: 4 gigs ram, a8n sli motherboard, 5 or 600 watt psu, new x800 gt vid card, new 7.1 dolby digital sound card, new 3800 cpu, so what will i need to take out of my dell?

k i will in a month or so, but i need a makeshift thing for now, i also got a 320 gb hard drive, so what parts should i take outta my dell?
