Whenever i boot my computer i get a message like this:

CMOS Checksum error - press F1 to continue and load default settings.

I pressed F1 and my pc loaded up fine but now the date and time has changed but wont stay after i restart my pc and the printer driver needs re-installing.

I have everything messed up, how can i fix this.

It won't hurt to drop a new battery in since that is a common problem seen on boards that have been in use for a few years. Hopefully that's all it is and not the bios itself. Generally you don't see this so soon. But you probably had a weaker battery from the start.
