Cmos

I have 3 toshiba sat pro 6000s, each is doing the same thing. Plug in the ac and the ac light turns green.Push the power and the ac light blinks amber.

I got one to post and it flashed a quick CMOS error. I'm thinking they were all stored in either too hot or too cold conditions and the CMOS bat went down.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Bob

It was a little too quick to read, I'm assuming the CMOS had it's first taste of juice for awhile and didn't have the kick it needed at first.

Can the CMOS prevent the bios from posting?

I guess thats my original question.

I'm still leaning more towards a power issue. Yeah, it could have an error, just if it wasn't run in a while. I've had a few comps, even with good batteries, loose the CMOS settings... Does the HD ever spin up? I know I had one old laptop that would work fine on the battery untill the HD tried to spin.

i take that back... unless it asks for the time and date everytime you boot up it shouldn't be the cmos battery
