I installed a new CMOS battery a few weeks ago. Tonight I booted it up and the time was off by 30 minutes. I haven't used it in a few days. Do you think that is the problem.
 
Here's what's going on. I replaced the CMOS Battery about a month ago. Every time I booted before I changed the battery, It gave me an error which was a pain. So that is why I can't live with it. But, Now the BIOS is not giving me an error message. The time in windows is wrong though. Do you think it will starting giving me the error messages?

does the time reset after a reboot?
 
No, It's Strange. Last night at around 10:00 PM I powered it up and the time was wrong. Then today at around 8:00 AM I powered it on and than the time was wrong again. Around 4:00 PM I powered it on and the time was right. But, BIOS is keeping a good time. It is just Windows.

I highly doubt it. I don't download much stuff. But, It is strange because BIOS is holding the time fine. It is just Windows. But, I remember before my CMOS Battery died a month ago. BIOS did not tell me anything at first. Windows time was off by 15 Minutes or so. Which is the same thing that is happening. Is it possible when installing it I could have accidentally demagnetized the battery?
 
I checked and it was on Pacific. Which is my timezone. I just booted it up this morning and it is holding a great time:confused: I guess maybe I haven't been using it enough. Do CMOS batteries charge off your computer?

Try clearing your CMOS again, and if not try reseting the clock. Make sure you take the CMOS jumpers out for over 30 seconds or it will not clear.
 
It's doing it again. I booted it up at around 2:30 PM and it says it is 2:00. I was reading on Wikipedia, sometimes if it is stored in cold environments the time can be wrong. I usually store it in my room which is always freezing. Especially during the night. Do you think this is possible?
