COD 2 Won't Work

I installed Call of Duty 2 on my PC (several years old) and it ran perfectly and looked beautiful. When I went to play it a second time, it stopped at the very first loading screen. I went to the task manager and it said not responding. I restarted it and ran the game in safe mode, and it worked fine, but when I went to play it a third time, it wouldn't work at all! Do I just need to reinstall it, download a patch, or upgrade my computer?

Here are my Specs:
Processor: Intel Pentium 4, 2.5 GHz
Ram: 512 (ddr-sdram)
Video Card: Radeon *edit*9800*edit* pro
spare Hard drive space: 11.1 GB


P.S. I have the COD 2 Collectors DVD Edition, Thanks

Video is 8600 Pro? Is this a laptop?
 
Yes Encore4More, I Am an Eragon and Eldest fan, I read Eldest in two days, and my bad, it's a radeon all in wonder 9800 pro, no, its not a laptop, its a customized desktop.
