codec etc. urgent

hey!
although i have all codecs , one of my video files doesnt work. and it say there is an error with codecs. what should i do?

Codecs are awkward and conflict if not installed correctly. Use this codec guide by Praetor http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/48608. What is the file? (avi,ogm,mpg etc) Run it through GSpot to check which codec it uses.

what about this codec pack? http://www.free-codecs.com/download/DJBCP_Codec_Pack.htm it worked fine for me...
