Coffee Spilled on My Laptop...Help!

I spilled coffee on my Samsung laptop. After going through it, the computer seems to work fine, but the hard drive will not start. No sound comes from it at all. The computer does not recognize it. When I hook it up externally, it is still not recognized. It's a 320GB Western Digital HD. It seems like it might have short-circuited, but I don't know. I'd think everything else would've short-circuited as well. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Or is it just garbage? Oh, btw this happened on Saturday night. I have tried getting it to work Sunday and Monday with no luck.

When you turn computer on, do you hear it spin up? Does the bios detect it? its most likely shot. I'm actually surprised laptop still works.

No, it doesn't spin up or do anything. Bios don't detect it. The comp only stays on for maybe 2 seconds unless I put in a different hard drive

Do you have a clean room available and the tools and know-how to accomplish this? This is basically a professional data recovery companies job. This is why you need to back up your important data, accidents can and will happen at any time.

I can't put the platter in another hard drive ?

Lol, you're asking for basic troubleshooting help and jump straight to that?

You'll just ruin the secondary drive trying to swap platters by yourself. This is why people back up their data into other mediums.
