college laptop

So, college is soon, so I want a laptop. I want one to play games as I will be back and forth between home and my desktop will only be in one place. So I'm like "Hmm, I'll check out the alienware even though they are over priced" So I did, and you can get a pretty good one for about the same as the ASUS gaming laptops, so I'm like "I have no credit but I'll apply for financing just to see what I get" So I did, and they gave me a 2k limit. So, I can get a decent beast with that. Or anything from dell at all. What should/would you guys do?

Go for the laptop? or go else where?

specs would be

i7 2630
radeon 6970 (or gtx 460 for 175 less)
6gb ram
320gb hdd x2 in raid 0

for $2109 ($1934 with gtx460)

NICE you are getting a gaming laptop.

I would go for Asus, over AlienWare or Dell.
And remember I don't think these laptops would have a great battery life.
Also you can check out sager notebooks too.I have heard good things about them.

Haha, I would definitely choose ASUS over dell. Though the big consideration is that dell gave me a $2000 credit limit so getting an Alienware is actually plausible.

Bah. well you guys where no help. Haha. I went ahead and bought it. It has some really nice features, and for the most part good reviews. I went with a 2gb 6970m video card as its benchmarks are way about the gtx 460m. Can't wait til the end of the month.
