College latop: good for the money?

I'm off to college in August, and I'll be getting a laptop in a few weeks.

Is this one good for the money?

how about the video card? An 8400 with 256 dedicated memory, how will that fare with sames like HL2 and Madden?

Like I said about someone else's 8400, it will play hl2. Hl2 requires a directx 7 card, and since the 8400 is a 9 series card, I don't see why it would play it badly on medium-high.

It's a good find for Best Buy, you would be able to build a nicer/cheaper on from Dell with their frequent 20-30% off coupons, but it's not too bad for what you're getting. As for the 8400, don't expect to play HL2 maxed out, but it should play it on low settings.

I had a Dell with a C2D 2.16GHz, 2GB DDR2, and 8600M GT and I could play TF2 on low-medium settings at a decent framerate.
