i got a sony vaio rx-550 and it has 2 hard drives one 60 gig and i guess its has a some king of virtual drive also. and i got a 250gig seagate hd and i wanted to know if i can combine thema ll to it can just be one drive (c:)

no. that will never happen. why would you want to do that anyways? there is no way you can combine two completely different hard drives... a 60GB and a 250GB both by different manufacturers and make one drive over 300GB... if that's what you're asking.

You can put two hard drives in a computer not in RAID, you'll have (gasp) one 60GB hard drive and one 250GB hard drive

Combining the hard drives would just be spanning, which wouldn't lose any storage space. There are ways of doing this, but I don't know if it's worth it. It's generally nice to have separate drives (or at least separate partitions) for the OS and storage and whatnot.

Yes, and in that case your OS would see two separate drives...

contrary to poular belief, you can add the storage together for one drive with xp pro. not really any speed increase though.

my 60 gig has no space in it at all its all taken up and it has some kind of virtual drive that i want to egt rid of so thats why i adde dthe 250 for i can keep isntalling stuff on the computer but i want to be set liek my default drive everything i download install and stuff would got to my 250 instead of my 60
