Of course there are DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drives. Here's a link for examples that google (one of my best friends) returned...http://www.directron.com/combo.html. I would think that as long as you go with a renowned brand, you should be fine. Plextor if you have the chance, yet I have not had the time to see whether they even produce such combo drives.

is better to get a DVD ROM and then a DVD BURNER even better GET A DVD/CDRW,DVDROM AND A DVD burner

I'LL either go with a pioneer or a plextor.

I pretty much use this drive to do everything except burn dvds which I have a nec dvd burner for.

I don't know about another DVD/CDRW, but I have a CDRW in an external enclosure. It's my Plex Premium, which I bought only for PC game backups.

Plextor if you have the chance

I don't think Plextor makes DVD/CDRW's but they do make excellent CDRW's and DVD Burners.
