I've read that you can buy an internal HD & encase it & use it as a backup & storage external, that it's cheaper & one can get a more reliable HD. Not being a computer hardware whiz, far from it, I'm wondering a couple of things. Where would you get the HD & the case? Is it easy to put together & what type of connector do I need to attach it to a laptop? Will there be instructions once I hook it up? (do they come with the internal drive & will the instructions apply to my situation). Do you know if size makes a difference in drive reliability? Does it sound like I'd be better off if I use a commercial external HD. I have a Western Dig Ext USB HD with 160 MB & 2 mb cache, I got it new for about $70. Any opinion if I should go with that vs the internal encased?
Thanks very much,
