Hello Everybody,
I have had an idea for a community service project and I want to ask you if you think it is feasable for me. I am 15 and a sophomore in high school, so once school ends this year, I want to start. What I want to do is take in people's old computers (that they would otherwise throw away) and either fix them or "canabalize" two computers to make one working computer.
(For example, if the graphics card of one doesn't work and that's the reason the person wanted to get rid of it, I would take the graphics card out of another donated computer where, for example, the processor was broken)
Do very many people want to get rid of computers?
Do you think I could put the computers together? I know how to add RAM in (I figured that out just by playing around), I could probably figure out how to add/subtract hard drives, etc. I know a lot about computers and everyone asks me for help. But, I am still only a sophomore in high school and only know a minimal ammount of C++ and HTML and no other code languages. Do you think this knowledge is enough for me to be able to put computers together? Do you think this is a good idea for a project?
Thank you very much!
