comp can't find gpu

I just put my evga 8600 gts into a rig I know works, I know the card does too because I just used it. The fan on it is spinning and Im using the monitor its hooked up to.

My problem:

Went to Nvidia's site and downloaded the drivers. tried to install them and it said can't find compatible hard ware (im using windows 7 32 bit and I downloaded those drivers.)

I put in the driver cd but it only works with xp and vista.

Nvidia and evga's drivers cant find the card.

Nvidia's hardware search doesnt work.

So what's up ??

Have you tried reinserting the card? Maybe something happened to the slot. Did you put the card back in to the original computer to verify that it still works? If so, its got to be either a setting in the bios or the video slot.
